For this weeks Thursday Thinspo I wanted to continue highlighting some of our favorite fashion models and what they drink.  Enjoy : )

Vlada Roslyakova drinking coffee with some friends.

Olga Sherer having a drink and a cigarette.  I wonder what she is drinking?

Imogen Morris Clarke drinking something warm – coffee or tea?

Monica Jagaciak drinking what looks to be a cocktail.

Taylor Warren having Starbucks and a cigarette.

This starving tip of the day came from SkinnyGossip reader Stacey:

Chocolate Ovaltine!! It’s only 20 calories per tablespoon (enriched with vitamins and minerals). I’ll put two tbs in a glass of unsweetened vanilla almond milk for a creamy, rich dessert or snack for less than 100 calories. Plus, there’s something so nostalgic about chocolate milk!

Thanks for the great tip Stacey!

With Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2011 just beginning, I’m excited as I see the first glances of the new collections.  One that really stood out to me was Giorgio Armani Privé S/S 2011.  I found his collection to be very unique and colorful and it didn’t hurt that some of my favorite models walked the runway.  Do you like this collection?

Vlada Roslyakova – Gucci Pre-Fall 2011

Vlada Roslyakova is the face for the Gucci Pre-Fall 2011 Collection.  Vlada looks good, but not a great as she once did.  This is one of the latest projects that Vlada has done.  I’m disappointed that Vlada isn’t walking in Paris and rumor has it that she may have gotten married and taking a break for this season.  Whatever the case may be, I hope Vlada is doing well and if she did get married – congrats Vlada!

Vlada Roslyakova - Gucci Pre-Fall 2011

I really like the collection, especially the shoes.

There wasn’t much color in this collection, it seems to be targeted to the older more sophisticated woman.

This starving tip of the day came from SkinnyGossip reader Sarah:

When I’m craving something sweet, I tuck into an uber low-calorie fruit jelly dessert consisting of Hartleys sugar free Jelly (8 cals per serving) mixed with fresh or frozen fruit (15 cals per 40g), making it a very sweet and satisfying 23 cal treat!

Thanks for the great tip Sarah!

Sigrid Agren – Purple Hands?

Sorry I haven’t posted in a bit, I’ve been super busy with Fashion Week stuff.  I’ve missed you, skinny gurls!  XO

When I first posted a model profile on Sigrid Agren, a few of you commented about her purple hands.  While looking though the images of the Chanel Haute Couture S/S 11 Paris show, I noticed that Sigrid’s hands were quite purple and very conspicuous.

Before Sigrid lost weight and reached “super skinny” status, her hands had a much more natural color, so it’s easy to assume the change is due to her significant weight loss (and it is significant – just take a look at her pictures during the “Elite Model Look” contest, before she became a successful fashion model, to see how much heavier she used to be.)  Now that she has lost the weight (surely in order to meet the requirements of high fashion), many are speculating that she has an issue with poor circulation.

Do any of you skinny gurls have purple hands?

Candice Swanepoel’s Amazing Transformation

The ‘net’s been all abuzz about Candice Swanepoel’s weight loss. I wasn’t sure what the fuss was about, so I did a little historical research before coming to any conclusions. But my conclusion is that she definitely lost weight – and, in my opinion, she looks better than ever! I’m posting a gallery below… first there are a few pictures of her in 2009 and 2010 – then new pictures of her from a few weeks ago.  It looks like most of the weight loss has just been over the past couple of months – and, while she’s never been my favorite among the VS girls, I think she looks great.

I’m estimating about a 15lb weight loss.

Thanks for the inspiration, Candice – nice work!

New Faces for 2012

To make up for my extended absence (sorry, but work has been crazy - and damn, I miss you guys!) I thought I’d share some wonderful new faces I’ve discovered while working over the summer and fall.

The first girl below is Rasa Zukauskaite. She reminds me a lot of Anabela Belikova – but younger and fresher. She is from Lithuania, is signed with Next, stands 5’9″ (175cm) tall and measures 30-23-33. She weighs about 105 lbs (47.5 kg).

Second is Vika Falileeva. Vika is from Irkutsk, Russia and is 5’10.5″ (179cm) and measures 31-21-33. In the US she is with DNA Models. She too weighs about 105 lbs (47.5kg) – so gorgeous, and her figure is amazing! OMG - that waist!!

Third is Ksenia Golubeva. Ksenia is from Russia, is 5’11″ (180cm) and measures 32-23-34. In the US, she is signed with Women Model Management. Don’t know her weight, but I would guess about 108-110 as she is slightly fuller than the other girls, especially in the hip.

Can’t wait to hear what you all think of my finds – hope this helps you keep the thinspo collection fresh. :)

Constance Jablonski at the casting for the 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

With the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show just around the corner, airing this Tuesday evening, I’m anxious to see a few of our favorites walking down the runway. This is one of the shows that I look forward to because it is a great cross-over for some of the high-fashion models that we love so much. Most of the fashion models who book this show actually get to eat and put on a few pounds so they fit the curvier look that VS goes for.

Here is a recent picture of Constance Jablonski at the casting for this year’s show. Yes, even big name models have to try out :)

Starving Tip of The Day!

This starving tip of the day came from SkinnyGossip reader Chrissy:

Think of your stomach pains in a whole new light. Your stomach doesn’t hurt because you are hungry, that burning feeling is fat melting off of you. When I am out and am tempted by fast foods or conveniences (candy bars, cereal bars…yes they are just as bad) I grab a handful or as much as I can anyway of my stomach and think of how gross it would be if I ate whatever I want. My clothes fit nice and tight and if I eat I know my tummy will bloat slightly…and uh..ick!

Thanks for the great tip Chrissy!

Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy Nudes

$

Well, Lindsay’s Playboy pictorial has leaked out and I have to say I am not impressed at all. I think they got what they were going for as far as the photographic style – they definitely hit the “Marilyn Monroe” nail on the head. But unfortunately Lindsay looks downright fat.

Pictures with my full (harsh, bitchy, Skinny Gurl-style) analysis after the jump. Stating the obvious: nudity inside! So if you don’t want to see a naked LiLo, don’t click through.

I know some people will say “well, Marilyn Monroe was curvy, that’s what they were going for.” Yes, Marilyn was curvy… so what. First of all, she wasn’t this fat. Second of all, lots of things were “in” in 1950 that are not cool now – apparently among them was being a cheap tramp who eats too much, because that is the vibe I’m getting from Lindsay in this embarrassing pictorial.

We all know Lindsay has gained quite a bit of weight over the past couple of years but I didn’t think it was this much. Everything looks big – not FAT by normal standards, of course – but fat by our standards. God, I really tried hard to find something nice to say, and the only thing that looks good to me are those gorgeous beige platform pumps. But as for her – gross! – her boobs are big and porny, her stomach bulges in all the shots, her thighs, hips, and butt are chunky, and she has zero body definition. Even her back looks fat!!

At first I was wondering… did she just go on a massive binge the weeks before the shoot? Or did they edit the photos to make her look thicker? Or have I just lost track of how “healthy” she’s gotten?

Well, if they did fatten her up digitally, it wasn’t by much, because as you can see in this behind-the-scenes shot from TMZ, she does not look slim at all.

Lindsay is in desperate need of money, so I understand why she did this, even if it makes her look cheap and vulgar. Let’s face it – she gave up even a pretense of having any class a long time ago. She also had a brief moment as a fashion icon – and remember when she was good thinspo? Her days as thinspo are long behind her, but this photo spread will put an end to what little “cred” she had left in the fashion community. I won’t be surprised to see her doing porn next. Oh well, at least she’ll be earning a paycheck.

So, what do you think about her body? What do you think her next act is? (Maybe we should have a LiLo porn-debut title contest? Lol!)

Christmas Thinspo

We all know how hard it can be to stay on track with family and friends around pressuring us to stuff our faces. It’s just as hard for me so I wanted to do a quick post to help us all “recover” from any damage we’ve done to our skinny plans over the holiday.

To those of you who had the self-discipline to stay away from most of the junk: hats off to you!! I did alright – I managed to behave myself most of the time but I admit I didn’t do as well as I would like. So I’m not super-proud, but not really pissed at myself either.

And for those of you who let yourselves go a bit too far this weekend – if you messed up and you’re feeling a bit gross/bad about your overindulgence, here’s some support from me to you, depending on what works best. I know some of you are really motivated by positive stuff and some are much more motivated by the negative. So there’s a paragraph for both types – please read the one that applies to you and skip the other. :)

If you’ve stayed on track over the holiday, then pat yourself on the back, skip them both – and enjoy the thinspo!

Positive Motivation
We all sometimes make mistakes, you can’t get down on yourself for every single one – or you’ll never feel like things are on the right track. Besides, it’s Christmas, for goodness sake! For me it was a great opportunity to spend time with family and, yes, I admit – sneak a few yummies in here and there. It’s just one day. Let it help you focus on your long-term goals. That’s what it’s doing for me. I feel like I might have gained a couple pounds, too – so I’m right there with you. Just let it help you focus on what you’re going to do when the holiday is over: get back on track and at your skinny best!

Negative Motivation
I don’t care if it’s Christmas or Hanukkah or whatever – if you’re going to be strong and keep control of your weight, you can’t be swayed by every little party or holiday that comes along. Quite honestly, people who always find an excuse to lean on really bother me. It’s like the people who say they are “big boned” or being fat is in their genes. No, it’s about what you put in your mouth and I’m sorry (ok, I’m not sorry), but it’s just weak. Stuffing your face like a hog just like the rest of them makes you just as gross as they are. I thought – just based on the fact that you were a Skinny Gossip reader – that you would be better than that? I’m really disappointed.

OK. Enough of the Jekyll & Hyde Skinny Gurl show – let’s get on with the thinspo! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all of you! I love (almost) all of you! XO

[Coming soon: Did Barbara Palvin Get Fat? (Hint: Yes!)]

How did you do over the holiday?

Barbara Palvin Has Gained Weight

First of all I’ve never really been into Barbara Palvin. I think she has a pretty face, but I don’t get the fascination – her look is very ordinary and commercial to me. And, I’ve never thought her body to be great: she’s short and curvy, which is obviously not my thing.

On the recent post about Lindsay Lohan looking fat in Playboy, commenter Irene asked if I’d maybe do a post about Barbara’s weight gain. So, I did a little research and whoa – Irene is right, Barbara has definitely packed on the pounds!

Let’s have a look.

First, here’s a set of pictures from the past couple of years. [Click the pic to view the set.]

OK, not awesome thinspo or anything, but still an OK body for a mainstream fashion model.

Now, let’s take a look at another set, these much more recent:  [Click the pic to view the set.]

Wow, I see a big difference – I’m guessing she put on at least 10-15 lbs over the last couple months.. and based on a few of those recent pictures, I’d say I’m being generous!

I think she’s been doing a little too much of this:

Fat Pride Burns My Hide

$

A magazine for “plus size” women (aka. fat girls) Plus Model Magazine, featured an editorial in this month’s issue that made me both angry and sick to my stomach.  While you fat lovers out there (we know you come here too!) are going to have lots to say defending this, most of you skinny gurls need to be prepared for what you’re about to see.

I’m not sure what is more disgusting – the pictures or the statistics they are using to make their point – some of which are incorrect.

The editorial throws around lots of statistics trying to make the point that models are too skinny and no longer portray the “average” woman.  Well – sorry to burst your bubble – but:

  1. Fashion models aren’t supposed to portray the average woman – they’re supposed to be aspirational.
  2. The “average woman” nowadays is a fatass!

Instead of putting these images in a gallery, I am going to show them one by one, because I have lots to say about each!  Hope you enjoy my added captions – which if you haven’t guessed, are in black and pink. The original captions from the magazine are the white ones, obviously. :)

This is the first time I’ve ever seen a skinny girl and a fat girl posing together naked – and I’m hoping it’s the last, because it’s really gross and a little scary. This reminds me a little of those pictures where a big killer whale is about to devour a beautiful little seal. When I see this picture, I just want to yell “RUN, RUNN!! IT’S NOT YOUR FRIEND, IT’S GOING TO EAT YOU!”

But anyway, their caption says most runway models meet the BMI criteria for anorexia. Well, there is no such thing as a “physical criteria for anorexia.” Anorexia is a mental disorder, and can be diagnosed at any weight. Nice stat for shock value, but unfortunately a complete lie. You cannot diagnose anorexia by a person’s size, and no professional would ever do so.

I’m really glad I can’t read the number on that measuring tape.. eww…can we say fat rolls!? Do you have any idea how much someone has to eat to look like this? Look, I am not saying she is a whale or obese, but she’s definitely fat and if I looked like that I sure wouldn’t be a> naked and b> in front of a camera. But to the caption: I wonder if these writers ever considered the, um, larger part of the equation: that the average woman in the western world has gotten much, much fatter over the past twenty years. Today the average fashion model weighs so much less than the average woman because the average woman is significantly overweight. In the US, for example, the average woman is 40 lbs overweight; 2/3 of women are overweight and 1/3 of women are obese. This is for one reason and one reason only: because they eat too much.

What’s wrong with your body? Really?! I don’t even know where to begin, but there’s a lot. And it makes me mad that you’re probably going to break those nice heels – LoL!

Other statistics used in the editorial:

“50% of women wear a size 14 or larger, but most standard clothing outlets cater to sizes 14 or smaller.”

“Ten years ago plus-size models averaged between size 12 and 18.  Today the need for size diversity within the plus-size modeling industry continues to be questioned.  The majority of plus-size models on agency boards are between a size 6 and 14, while the customers continue to express their dissatisfaction.”

Well, ten years ago there wasn’t a significant market for plus-size models because society as a whole wasn’t as fat as we are today.  Do you really think an overweight person aspires to look overweight?  In most cases, I bet the answer is no. We know the majority of overweight people wish they were smaller, whether it be smaller by 5 lbs or 50lbs, if they could push a button and make it happen, they would.  Pushing that button is way easier than the hard work that it really takes to lose those pounds…much easier than exercise or eating right.  My point is that most want to picture themselves as a smaller person and what does a fat person have to aspire to or imagine themselves looking like if they are looking at these overweight models in ads?  Nothing!  Because the overweight person wants to fantasize about being slimmer and sexier and that’s why there’s a billion dollar industry around advertising and why it is dominated by models a size 6 or slimmer.

Editor-in-chief Madeline Figueroa-Jones discusses the editorial in further detail on their website, there you will also find the rest of the images…do you dare?

The whole “fat pride” movement is irritating because plus-sizers want to tell us “big is beautiful” and it should be represented more in the modeling industry. I say it’s the opposite: if big really was beautiful, and most people wanted to be big, and wanted to see big people, don’t you think we’d see a lot more fat people modeling? I do. But we don’t – because it isn’t.

The New Skinny Gossip Forums

Many of you know that the Skinny Gossip Forums have officially launched. Things are just starting to get interesting in there, so I hope all of you get in there, sign up, and start chit-chatting away with us ASAP. We’ve had about 100 members sign up just in the first week, which I think is pretty exciting. But – as you know – I have really high standards (like a lot of you!) and am pretty hard to please, and I want more, more, more!

So, I’m going to give you a few reasons to get in there and start participating:

  • Being a forum, it feels even more like a community. You can set up profiles, etc. etc.
  • It’s a much safer & saner way to personally connect with one another – I can’t tell you how many THOUSAND comments I have deleted because some well-meaning gurl posts her contact info or whatever bc she wants a “skinny buddy” – but I don’t feel right letting that happen when I have no control over who will see that info. With the forums there are a couple layers of verification that will keep us all safer and give us more private areas for discussions.
  • It keeps conversations tied together – one of the things that has frustrated me about the blog – as much as I love it – is that the comments go off in a million different directions and the comments don’t end up really having anything to do with the article they are posted on. And I’m OCD so it drives me nuts. So please, if it’s got nothing to do with the post – PUT IT IN THE FORUMS. They’re you’re friend. ;)
  • It’s private – especially the super-elite “Gurls Club” – which I’ll talk about later.
  • You can easily submit items/articles/etc. for consideration to be featured on Skinny Gossip! You might be famous!
  • I’m a stickler for privacy: your personal info (email, etc.) is never shared with anyone.

I’m working on some fun stuff to keep it interesting in there, for example:

  • A points/prize system. You will be rewarded for participating positively (as determined by other members.) It’s similar to the karma system over on The Fashion Spot (we love you, TFS!) except I’m going to give away real prizes.
  • Awards/badge system for meeting your goals or other community rewards
  • Personal photo albums with privacy control so you can share pics only with members you know and trust.
  • Weight trackers, group diets, competitions, etc.

Now, a little info on the “Gurls Club” which is for my favorite gurls only. You know who you are – you’ve been supporting me forever on this blog. Commenting, keeping it real, reminding me when I’m slacking, etc. So I have created this Club for my besties, and you’ll have special karmic powers, access to secret areas, public recognition of your superior status, and – you’ll hopefully get lots of inside gossip. Why inside gossip? Because it’s going to include a lot of girls who work in the business (models, actresses, others in fashion & entertainment) and who I know frequent the site. (In fact, I’ve reached out to some of you personally already.) So anyway, send me a private message on the forum for further info – because some of you are shoo-ins!

Also – be warned: I am considering tying the blog and forum more tightly together, like requiring a forum login to be able to comment on the blog, and tying articles directly to their forum thread, but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. When/if I do that, you’ll need a forum login to comment at all. One more reason to sign up.

So get in there now!

Kate Upton Is Well-Marbled

Did you know that humans are 80% genetically identical to cows? Well, allow me to prove it to you…

kate-upton-lardy-2

Guess who?! Yes, it’s the lovely Kate Upton, confidently lumbering up a runway like there’s a buffet at the end of it. Now, there’s nothing wrong with an average girl like Kate being confident. She’s pretty, she bangs down the runway like she owns it, and I totally commend her for her bravery.

Fairer views of Kate in the same outfit are here:

kate-upton-lardy

And I still ask: what the heck? Has fashion become this? Well – we know it hasn’t, so let’s not pretend this is fashion. She looks thick, vulgar, almost pornographic – and she is a solid 30 lbs too heavy for this outfit.

Which gets me to – what the HELL IS THIS??? Choices, people!!!

kate-upton-cannibal

I thought cannibalism was illegal?!? If that’s not a very different species of cow, Kate could be in legal trouble!

So gurls, with my apologies, let’s take a closer look at this little piggie:

kate-upton-fat-bikini kate-upton-beach-bunny-backstage-4

Huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, terrible body definition – she looks like a squishy brick. Is this what American women are “striving” for now? The lazy, lardy look? Have we really gotten so fat in this country that Kate is the best we can aim for? Sorry, but: eww!

The sudden surge in fame for Kate Upton makes me wonder how much further our plus-sized fixation is going to go. It’s not that the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue was ever high art, but thanks to Kate Upton securing this year’s cover, it’s now barely a notch above Playboy.

kate-upton-slutty

Fashion is supposed to be aspirational – and the kind of people who aspire to look like this shop for clothes at Wal-Mart.

It’s all very much too bad, because at the beginning, there was some hope for her:

kate-upton-pretty

Seriously, what a beauty! She is absolutely gorgeous here. I feel for her agent – I can almost hear the weeping. What beautiful eyes and face she started with – there was actually potential for her before she fell in love with… stuffing her face!

kate-upton-burger

Look, I’ll admit – I love In’n’Out as much as the next gurl, but it’s not supposed to be an everyday thing, Kate! And we can be sure that Kate is the rare model who poses with food – and then actually devours it.

She doesn’t just look vulgar – she’s also never afraid to act the part:

kate-upton-slutty-2

Gee, what do you want in that glass, Kate? *shudder* – seriously, this looks like the cover of some crappy porn movie. “Kate Upton stars in: Hillbilly Gokkun, Volume 1” sounds about right – she is easily the most “porny” model to enter the mainstream in a very long time. She looks like she would work in the back of a motorcycle shop in Nashville and give (bad) blow jobs for $25.

The poor girl is 19, but looks like a rough 30. She’s 150+ lbs, but dresses like she’s 115.

She actually looks pregnant here, but I suspect it’s just the result of shapewear or corset abuse:

kate-upton-pregnant

Yes, yes, I know that every tobacco-chewing, beer-drinking, shotgun-toting, NASCAR-watching man south of the Mason-Dixon line would love to get into her pants (or, as they say down South, “into her tent”, which in her case is the same thing) – but most of those guys wouldn’t know a beautiful woman if she jumped out in front of his pickup truck.

Even though I have my disagreements with Victoria’s Secret, I can agree with them on this. Sophia Neophitou, one of their casting directors, said this of Kate:

“We would never use her… she’s like a Page 3 girl… she’s like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.”

I agree with that sentiment, but this is not a face I’d want to buy:

kate-upton-acne
kate-upton-miss-piggy

This girl belongs deep in the gutter of American commercialism – so don’t get any crazy ideas about her being a fashion model, OK?

Some Changes

When I bought this domain name on a lark, I never thought it would end up here. The idea was to create a gossip site with a snarky counter-view to a culture that glorifies excess consumption. And, I was a shy person growing up, so it seemed like fun to have an alter-ego where I could say things I’d thought but never said.

As a thin person, I was also annoyed by our double-standards around weight. For example, people think nothing of telling a thin woman – to their face, in front of an entire group of people – how skinny they are and even to suggest what they should eat. But I’ve never seen the reverse happen to an overweight woman.

It also seems thin is only OK if it’s an accident. We hear thin celebrities say “damn, I eat like a horse and I just can’t gain weight!” This is a lie and one they feel they must tell, because honesty (“I work hard for this body!”) is for some reason socially unpalatable. It’s also terrible because it feeds the delusion that our body weight is outside of our control.

I know it sounds weird in a world where we hear about “pressure to be thin”, but sometimes it feels like if you are thin – whether naturally or as a result of your daily choices – there is pressure not just to eat, but to overeat. And those of us who want to be thin – or need to be for our career – need ways to deal with that.

I have had my own issues around food and eating, both personally and in my family, and obviously they have found their way into my writing here. I realize I haven’t always been great at knowing where the line is. But again there is a terrible double-standard: “big beautiful women” sites on which people exchange recipes for 4,000-calorie cheesecakes don’t seem to unnerve the social critics the same way we do. I’ll leave it to smarter people to figure out why.

What I write on the site is intentionally outrageous and intended to provoke controversy, but I never imagined it would grow to the point where the celebrities I was writing about were actually reading the articles, and that has made me think.

Over the past week, things really snowballed. It seemed to start with an IBT article, which I believe led to a Reddit thread where the submitter implored readers to “please stop” me. It worked; that thread resulted in Anonymous hitting me with a DDoS attack, forcing me to change web hosts and spend most of the week wondering what the hell I had gotten myself into.

The site was barely back up when a wave of major articles hit – many of them labeling us as “pro-anorexia”, which is absolutely false. Anorexia is not mere dieting, it is not striving for a certain look or to fit into a certain piece of clothing. We have never supported illness or self-harm. But these days if you’re slim or even average and want to be a little thinner, the anorexia label is not far behind. Not that any of you will listen to me about what’s counterproductive, but calling every skinny person anorexic doesn’t do sick people any favors. It’s also worth noting that not a single one of these so-called journalists contacted me before filing their stories.

Had the media bothered to look a little deeper, they would have seen the community behind the site – a community I’m very proud of. The Skinny Gossip forum is made up of more than 1,000 awesome young women supporting each other in health and, in some cases, recovery. It is a community where we prefer the skinny look, but not at the cost of health. Promotion of self-harm is not tolerated, and in several cases we have suspended or even banned members who did.

The community also includes a number of fashion models (including some who are quite well-known) whom I either know personally or have invited via friends and colleagues. They have access to a private “VIP” area to discuss (anonymously, if they wish) the challenges of their careers and the struggle to balance the thinness their jobs demand with the health we all want them to maintain. They also share their work experiences with others in the industry, and I believe it has served as a great resource for young women working in a very difficult business.

But returning to my key point, the site’s reach has grown tremendously, and with this reach comes new responsibility. So, effective immediately, I am making the following changes:

  • I am removing the “Starving Tips of the Day” until I can review, edit, and possibly re-title it. While I believe most of them are solid tips for avoiding overeating or curbing cravings, I do see some of them that, upon further reflection, I can no longer support.
  • I am adding language to our community registration terms that explicitly prohibits the glorification or promotion of self-harm. While it has been unofficial policy from the beginning, it will now be officially stated. This will not just be window dressing; it will be enforced. We do not want to cut off support to those most in need, but we will warn – and then ban – members who violate these terms, and when doing so we will direct them to reputable sources of assistance.
  • Within the next few days, I am adding a section to the community with resources and paths to assistance for issues including depression, eating disorders, and self-injury.
  • I am making some changes to the VIP areas of the community to better reflect this philosophy and ensure that each member clearly understands the goal and intent of the community.

Over the past few days, I have heard from hundreds of people. Most of you tried to out-hate me – including several death and rape threats – but a few of you sent messages that were fair, well-thought-out, and in some cases even kind. Those who sent the former are part of the problem; those who sent the latter deserve some of the credit for these changes.

In closing, there’s nothing wrong with saying skinny is beautiful, just like there’s nothing wrong with saying curvy is beautiful, or red hair is beautiful, or anything else someone happens to find appealing. It’s an opinion, and we’re all entitled to them.
